Treatment of neck DSC

It is possible to divide the treatment of DSC neck as follows:

Non-surgical treatment

Some non-surgical treatments to relieve the symptoms of cartilage slide: [4] [7]

  • Medications: The main drugs used to reduce pain caused by cartilage slide are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) because the pain is originally caused by pressure of nerve roots and inflammation of the same disc substance. In severe pain oral steroids are used for Relatively short.

  • Physical therapy and exercises : The doctor recommends specific exercises to reduce pain, and sometimes it is recommended to review a physiotherapist to teach the patient to exercise and protect the neck, and can initially use heat and cold to reduce muscle spasms.

  • Cervical Traction: The head is pulled down so that the pressure on the nerve roots is reduced. If this procedure is effective for the patient, it can be easily done at home using a home pull device.

  • Chiropractic Manipulation: A gentle manual treatment at low speed may reduce joint dysfunction that may contribute to pain.

  • Make adjustments to activities: Some types of activities increase the pain caused by cartilage slide, so the patient should avoid these types of activities such as lifting heavy loads, and any activity increases the pressure on cervical vertebrae.

  • Strengthen and strengthen the neck: using the cervical collar or brace ( cervical collar or braces) and thus get some comfort for the cervical vertebrae area.

  • Injections such as Cervical Epidural Steroids Injections or Selective Nerve Root Blocks can help reduce inflammation in severe pain from cartilage slide.

Surgical treatment

Circumvascular cartilage often takes weeks to two months to resolve the problem of pain in the hands, but if the pain lasts longer than six weeks to 12 weeks or if the pain and disability caused by cartilage slide are severe, surgery is the logical and effective solution for five Ninety-eight per cent of pain recovery. [8]

There are different ways to perform cartilage slide surgery: [8]

  • Anterior cervical discoloration and jointing of the vertebrae . This is the most common method. It is done by making an incision from the front of the neck and removing the damaged disc. The jointing of the vertebrae is done on its own, but a plate can be placed for a larger stent, and for better integration.

  • The posterior cervical discectomy: This method is performed behind the neck and is more difficult than the previous method, because of the large number of veins in it, which may lead to bleeding, which obstructs vision during the process.

  • Replacing the cervical disc with another prosthesis: This method is done by making a slit in front of the neck and remove the damaged disc, and then put an artificial disc in place to resemble the original disk.

                                                             END

sometimes i suffer from that problem but i know it occurs when put a lot pressure on your neck when watching computer, reading a book or a newspaper. one simple solution is whenever you feel that soon the pain is gonna start then immediately have some bed rest.
