How e-Learning and Online Tutoring can become passionate

in #life6 years ago (edited)

The world is gradually changing, and we are moving it a new era. The days of having to be in the same class to learn is gradually being replaced with online tutoring and e-learning opportunities. These platforms has made it easier for one tutor to teach pupils who are far away from him/her. The thing however with this new form of learning is that it is not accompanied with the same level of passion. Usually the traditional classroom has an atmosphere that gives both the tutor and the pupil passion to teach and to learn respectively. However, with e-learning, the tutor or student can get distracted and may not really be passionate.

So how can this problem be solved. How can e-learning become more passionate?

  1. The tutor must make the students know how much you can help them: One of the things that quench passion is doubt. Sometimes the students are doubtful of the abilities of the online tutor, and this makes them to lose the drive to continue. To solve this problem, the tutor must make the students see that he is there to help them. The tutor has to clear their doubts by responding promptly and making the learning process interesting and captivating. This way the tutor does not get distracted too.

  2. The tutor should make it personal: Students vary and each person have their level of understanding and capacities. The best way to ignite the passion of the student is to get to know the student. Try to understand the student’s abilities, his strong points and his weaknesses. That way you will be able to tailor your teaching methods. Also when you take this approach, the student will see that you are concerned and will pay more attention.

  3. Make the teaching process fun: One of the things that get people bored is lack of fun. If you are always quoting the formula and teaching the principles, the student will surely lose interest. To capture his interest, what you should do is to find new ways to teach. Tell them to make videos about what you just thought them. You can even encourage the student to start a blog and write on the topics they learnt. That way they get to have fun while learning and this keeps the student passionate.

  4. Tutor should share their learning experiences: One way to motivate people is by sharing your own experiences, the good and the bad ones. You should share your bad experiences more so as to show the student that you have been in his shoes before and that you understand what he/she is going through.

  5. The student must be disciplined: The only way a student can encourage a tutor and also increase the tutor’s passion is by being disciplined. When the student does the work he is given, the tutor will be encouraged to go on, and this also helps the student too.

E-learning and online tutoring are new concepts, but they have come to stay, and if you want to get the best out of it, the following tips must be applied. The student has a role to play, and also the tutor has a role to play.
