RE: May I “Mansplain” Something for a Minute, Please?

in #life7 years ago

I can agree that the insults are more a reflection on the recipient's beliefs than the speaker's, but intentionally attacking a person's insecurities in order to prove ones alpha male status is an intentional choice to be an asshole for the purpose of feeding into ones own starving ego. It's low hanging fruit whether directed towards a male or a female.

What most neanderthals get wrong is that they need to play mind games and bring others down in order to emerge superior rather than recognizing those who are already better than them and learning from them.

If you want to be a real man, learn to change and better yourself. Stop using the weak to make yourself feel superior and start using the strong to make yourself superior to who you were yesterday.

I agree with everything you just said. Alas, evolution doesn’t seem to have the same problem with assholes as you or I do. If it did, there would be far fewer of them.

Glad to hear you do agree. The one thing we don't seem to agree on is that somewhere in there evolution gave us free will and what you're attributing to evolution I attribute to decisions. The fact that not all men are disgusting assholes is proof that we have agency to overcome our primal urges of one-upmanship and competitiveness and violence so I don't and can't excuse the men who act this way.

So evolution would have made all men disgusting assholes but for the supposed existence of free will?
