The government through the Ministry of Administrative Reform of Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) plans to change the pension scheme for Civil Servants (PNS) this year. The new scheme is expected to provide greater benefits for civil servants.
PANRB Minister Asman Abnur explained that the new pension scheme is already final and ready to be announced.
"It will be announced after it is agreed, but the final model already exists, we hope it will be better than now," he said in Jakarta on Monday (22/1/2018). He explained, in the new pension scheme is one of them by considering the period of work and contributions paid by civil servants. "We expect to be calculated also based on the period of work and the amount of contributions that may now be managed not properly, but the pension fund still managed by Taspen will not be returned to its prosperity for ASN," he explained. With the new scheme, he said, it will motivate civil servants to work better. Then, civil servants will get an added value from the new scheme. However, Asman said, this change is still limited to retirement. Changes do not include changes in civil servant salary structure. Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Askolani, said the new civil servant pension scheme is discussed internally by the government. "The pension scheme is still being discussed in the internal government," he said when talking with aceh some time ago. Despite being discussed, Askolani confessed, the new scheme program for civil servant pensions will be implemented this year. Of course, must wait for the blessing of President Jokowi to be able to carry it out. "Insyaallah planned in 2018, but must be signed by the president," said Askolani without willing to explain further about the new scheme of civil servant pension.
