Part two of my previous walk in the park, as promised. Watch for the standing sea turtle!
In the previous post in my A Walk in the Park series, my wife and I saw ducks and turtles, a maze, spider webs, a pond, a boardwalk and a gazebo. This post is the other half of the same park, all from the same visit on New Year’s Day 2017.
On the other side of the maze, working westward in the park, this was found in the middle of the walking path at an intersection of two paths.
We headed to the back of the little park from there, where we found gigantic beasts. A frog and a rabbit, much larger than normal size, were awaiting us and even invited us to sit down with them. There was also a turtle and an alligator, but I have no images of them. They were a bit more elusive than expected.
There wasn’t much back there other than a small play area for children with a slide, swings, and some climbing objects. So, we made our way back to the other side and discovered this...
It was a small amphitheater in the back corner of the park. I assume that it’s used as a reading and occasional teaching/learning area for children (there is a library adjacent to this park). There were lots of mosaic animals on each level.
Looking in the opposite direction, we find a very nice and accurate message:
We are each a tile in nature’s mosaic
After checking out all of the mosaic creatures, my wife and I made our way back to the entrance. Just on the other side of the amphitheater, there was a girl reading a book.
We continued down the path and snapped some photos of flowers and berries on the way out.
I’m not sure what this first flower was. If I had to guess, I’d say that it was some sort of string lily. But don’t quote me on that.
So that was our fun day at the park. I hope you enjoyed the images!
I feel like I’m forgetting something...
Hmm…what was it...
Oh, right! The standing sea turtle! Here he is:
I’m sure the children love taking pictures with that guy!
The next installment of this series is going to be spectacular. We went out yesterday afternoon and snapped some amazing photos on another walking path and waterfront. I’ll have some of those images ready to go this week, so stay tuned!

WOW!!!! That's all I can think of to say. Upvoted & resteemed!
Thank you!
Really nice decorations in the park!
They sure are! I wasn't expecting it. That little amphitheater was hidden in the back corner. We almost missed it!
Alright a new twist! In my mind this one is called "Places hanshotfirst wishes he were exactly 5 years ago today". I think this would be an awesome place to take little kids. I know my kids would have loved it a few years back. Why did I choose to raise them in the midwest? ;)
Nothing wrong with the midwest. It can raise fine specimens such as myself.
I think you'll like the next few posts. The photos that I took yesterday will show you a place that's good for adults, small children, and anyone in between.
Cool. Looking forward to it. For some reason I thought you were a Florida guy.
I will never be a "Florida guy." I just happen to be in the area, currently.
LOL. My apologies. Go Midwest!!!!
Wow! I'm going to visit this place, you're photos are great!
I still have no ideas where these pictures have been taken from, but they look great :D
Very nice park for a walk. Love the 2 benches you featured in this post.
