The trail itself is covered in... well you called it- FERNS! as well as many other plants and trees both native and non native. The ohia is a very widely sought wood for its beautiful color and awesome work-ability and wide use! Hence why it is now a protected species of tree-
Just a few minutes into the trail and you will come across a small off trail which leads to a small shack that someone had the kindness to build years prior. It has a deck and all! (pictures coming soon in the series!) So this is where we tend to hang out and enjoy a nice cold beer and cool climate!
This FERNs growth is alot like life... and STEEMIT! It has been a very slowly growing, stretching, unrolling and reaching for the sun and STARS! I remember when I first joined steemit... and the price was 13cents! now at a little over 2$ thanks to this recent pump, I am blessed and a full believer in the STEEMWAY! Enjoy this photo and short story as you travel with us during each episode of TRAVELERS JOURNAL series #003!
Journey with us to the elusive Kaloko District Located off of Palani Road in Kailua Kona, Hawaii! This has been a favorite trail for @brandybb and myself because of its cool climate. Now keep in mind this is cool by HAWAII standards! haha. Meaning that it has lows of maybe 45-50F and highers around 80-85F. But it definitely averages in the mid seventies which makes it a wonderful escape from the insane heat found down beachside!
all photos are either mine @bambam808 or my gf @brandybb, AKA they ARE ALL ORIGINAL PHOTOS.
