RE: Love yourself

in #life7 years ago

Everyone naturally loves themselves. That's why small children have to be taught to wait their turn, to share, not to hit others, or take the property of others. True love is loving others.

(Matthew 5:43-45 NIV) "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' {44} But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, {45} that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

But we are easily taught and influenced not to love ourselves - is the sad and true part. It doesn't stick with everyone.

Was more a statement of loving yourself and not trying to be something you are not. Loving others is a very important lesson too! Have a great weekend!

That natural greed of children is NOT love of self, it is the entirely normal consequence of the soul becoming attached to the material senses and their objects, rather than God.
