Erectile Dysfunction, the leading cause of relationship breakups? | All you need to know

So many couples and relationships were broken and are still breaking. Many males are afraid of going into relationships. Although these are attached to so many reasons, but one of the common and widespread reason is the issue of ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION.

You are probably thinking WHAT IS ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?

Well, it is a very common experience, but if you don't know what it is, it is a condition when a male cannot get enough penis erection required for sex. In some situation, there will be penis erection required for sex, but the erection does not last.
This experience can lead to the breakage of relationships, when the male cannot satisfy his partner sexually. It causes depression for the person going through the experience. And I think we know what relationship breakups can lead to in our life.

But, What causes erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction occur due to numerous reasons. Some of the reasons are pathological, while some are psychological. Some of the reasons are explain below:

Heart as we know it, is the pumping organ of the body. It pumps blood to all parts of the body. And one thing that leads to the penis erection is the flow of large amount of blood to the penis. When the heart is not functioning very well, that is, when the heart is not pumping enough blood to the body parts, especially the penis when required. This inadequate blood flow to the penis means there will be no erection of the penis, or the erection will not be sufficient for sex.

Good and wellfunctioning heart means good sex life.

Clotting of blood means the coagulation of blood, which simply means blood changes from it's liquid form to solid form. Although this phenomenon is very useful and beneficial during injury, but it is very harmful when it happens inside the body without injury. Part of the complications of blood clotting is erectile dysfunction. Blood only flow easily in it's liquid form, but when it is in the form of clot, blood will not flow easily in the blood vessels. And without the blood flow to the penis, there will be no erection. The negative effects of blood clotting in the body is more than this, and very perilous.

Blood clot means no blood flow, which in turn means no penis erection.

BLOCKAGE OF BLOOD VESSELS

Factors that causes blockage of the blood vessels are numerous. Large blood clot is part of it. When the clot is so large that it can no more move through the vessels, and it sticks to and block the vessels. Another thing that leads to the blockage of blood vessels is the accumulation of plaque in the artery, this is known as arteriosclerosis. When the arteries are narrowed and hardened, there will be no blood flow, and blood will not reach the penis to cause erection.

Occlusion of blood vessels destroys the penile erection.

DAMAGE TO THE NERVES THAT SUPPLY THE PENIS

When the nerves supplying the penis are destroyed, nervous impulses will not reach the penile tissues. And when nerve impulses does not reach the penis, the brain, which controls all body activities, will not be able to control the penis for erection required for sex to occur.

Damaged nerves means the brain will not be able to coordinate the penis.

PSYCHOLOGICAL REASONS

Yes, psychological effects can lead to erectile dysfunction. When you've cheated or done something bad to your partner secretly, and you are feeling remorse, it can consequently destroy the penis erection. Anxiety can also cause it. When you are afraid of your performance on bed, or afraid of the remark your partner will give you after the sex, you may have contrition. The contrition makes you emotionally unstable and can affect your penile erection. There are other psychological effects also lead to erectile dysfunction.

Being psychologically stable ameliorate your sex performance.

What can I do to get rid of this embarrassing experience?

Fortunately, there are so many ways of curing erectile dysfunction. Some of the ways are:

  • Exercising the heart regularly. This improve the function of the heart, and also the blood vessels. The blood vessels become more elastic, and there is more blood flow through the vessels to the penis.

  • Exercises also increase the testosterone, which is the male hormone that is significantly responsible for sex drive.

  • There are also exercises specifically for the penis. Kegel is a typical example of the exercise. This is done by exercising the muscle of the pelvic floor. This is the muscle you use to pause/stop the flow of urine while micturating. After discovering the muscle, try to use it to raise the pelvic floor. It might be kinda difficult at start, but will improve as you continue it. Repeat the action for like 20 to 30 times a day.

  • Consuming foods that are beneficial to the penile tissues, the heart and the blood vessels also cure the erectile dysfunction. Zinc containing foods are always good for the improvement of penile health.

Consuming Banana is good for the heart. Watermelon helps to improve blood circulation. Onions, Salmon and Tuna, Garlic, Tomatoes, Oysters and other shellfish also helps a lot in improving the penis erection. There are so many other foods to improve the penis erection.

  • A very good sleep is also needed for a good erection. Erection, or let me say sex is an activity that requires a lot of energy, and sleeping is a natural way of regaining lost energies. So having a very good sleep can save your relationship :)

The best way to get rid of this condition is to visit your doctor. Yes, when you visit your doctor, the underlaying cause will be easily diagnosed. And the suitable and appropriate treatment can be done. What hinder most people from consulting doctor is that, it is kind of embarrassing to be explaining the effectiveness of your penis to another person. But your doctor is a medical personnel, and will know the right thing to do to reverse and ameliorate the disease.

You know, the simple thing that happens during exercises is the repeated contraction of the muscles you are exercising. And there is something about muscles, few contractions of muscles a day can lead to the hypertrophy of the muscles, This means increase in the mass of the muscles. This also improve the nerve supply for control and coordination of the muscles.

Now, kegel exercise is the repeated contraction of the muscles of the pelvic floor. This increase the mass, and improve your control over the muscle. And when you are able to control the muscles of your pelvic floor, it enables you to control and hold the penis erection. The penis will be firm, and the erection will be longer.
Kegel exercise have other benefits, which include the conscious control of the bladder contraction.

Just locate your pelvic floor muscles, by trying to stop the urine flow the next time you are urinating. Contract and hold the muscles repeatedly for some times daily.

I suppose anxiety is the most common reason. Positive thoughts lead relaxing. Sexual performance has a correlation with relaxation and serenity. Because erection is controlled by parasymphatic nervous system. When a person feel anxiety and tension symphatic system activates. Heart beat and blood pressure increase. Bad thoughts cause erectile disfunction
