RE: Iron Maiden and Rasberry Weisse Beers!

in #life7 years ago

Thanks for the reviews, I have been wondering about that Iron Maiden beer since it made the headlines some time ago. It's too bad the Berliner Weisse was so artificial tasting, I usually enjoy this style of beer. 🍻

On another note ... I know Steemit is usually unicorns, rainbows, cheers this, and thank you that but have to call you out on something...

Oh, it's only 3.8% perhaps I should see if I can borrow one of the good lady's skirts for the sampling?

  1. Low alcohol beers are not "girly". I know plenty of women who drink sorts of great craft beer from IPA to imperial stouts to barrel-aged sours. I also know women brewers who make delicious beer across the spectrum of styles.

  2. Berliner Weisse beers are supposed to be tart with low alcohol According to the German Beer Institute, "Berliner Weisse is relatively low in alcohol, only 2.5—2.7% by volume, and it is usually taken with a shot (a "Schuss") of raspberry syrup." According to the Germans, this version you have is actually strong. According to BJCP the alcohol range for the style is 2.8 - 3.8%. It's supposed to be tart and it's supposed to have low alcohol. (It's also supposed to taste good and it seems like this one did not).

Okay, now that I said that I hope I wasn't too harsh. I just want to be inclusive of everybody in the beer world and also want to help educate about the various styles of beer. 😊

Cheers and here to looking forward to your next post. 🍻

Lol, I don't think it's at all unicorns and rainbows!

I usually enjoy this kind of beer too. The girly comment is typical of my writing style. Which is most certainly not to say I am misogynistic or depreciative of women in any way. I am just a humorous type of writer and I say many many things in an almost nonsensical style at times. I say terrible things about men and animals too. Sometimes even inanimate objects get it as well.

It seeps into my saturday beer reviews too which as you might have noticed are fairly light-hearted :O)

I think the thing that disappointed me most about this is that it was not a genuine Berliner Weisse but instead was a styled beer done by a Scottish brewery and I have had similar in the past, particularly from the Tempest and Fierce breweries in Scotland which thoroughly nail the xxxx style type of beers whilst putting their own twist on it. That of course and despite the assurances that it had fields of raspberries in it was just so artificial tasting.

Anyway, call me out anytime. I might buy you a beer. We could go and see some carp together :O)

😊 Cheers! 🍻
