What is life about? || Bergling's Blog

Life isn‘t easy. And it certainly isn’t easy to answer one of life’s most pressing questions: What is it all about?
In the past, many humans assumed that there was a cosmic relevance to them. They thought they mattered, not least because they were taught that the earth was the center of the galaxy. As the years passed, and as discoveries were made in the fields of astrophysics and related sciences, we came to learn that we are an extremely small constituent of the observable galaxy. From mars, our dear Planet Earth seems to be nothing but a frail blue dot in the sky.

Yet, this frail blue dot in the sky does seem to be a peculiar drop of water. If one looks closely, if necessary with the help of a magnifying glass, he can see millions of tiny living creatures in, on and around the drop of water. Humans, crocodiles, frogs, ants and microbes are all part of this drop. And yet the so called homo sapiens seems to attach more value to himself than to any other species of animal. He’s not wrong if he claims to be the fittest for survival, but he is definitely wrong to see himself apart from all the others. He is the result of pure luck, just like the rest of them. Darwin’s theory of evolution reveals that the random mutation of genes is what creates improved organisms over millennia upon millennia. If we are the result of randomness and luck, may I, then, suggest that there is no intrinsic sense behind our existence?

We live but on a speck of dust in cosmic terms and ostensibly there is no sense in our existence. For many, this would seem like a crushing, defeating realization, because they have identified with having an importance in this world. For many others, including me, this is an extremely freeing realization. There's no pressure. All there is, is the will to live. More so, there is the will to live passionately. And if the will fades, the world has enough to offer to rekindle it. You just have to find it.

Also learning is important. lol
You probably should have used bots instead.

To be honest it's kind of sad that I'm hearing this everywhere. How could such an environment possibly thrive?

It's still in beta. Hopefully things change. I am trying to change it and trying to take delegations away from the bots.

Hi!!! I have discovered that the meaning of my life is to make art. And share it with the whole world. Take it to each corner of the planet, and on the way to bring something positive to each person who crosses my path.
Through this platform you can help me carry it out, with just one click in my posts.
What is your mission in life? I can also collaborate with you. Check my posts, and comment wich is your goal in this life, i promise ill help you in all your post.

Very interesting! We all ask ourselves these three question (right?)
Who am I?
Where am I going?
With whom?
We'll probably never find the answers. I have been so torn with the whole aspect of my identity, and my friend once said; "Kaitlin, your just a product of the choices you make". Yea, its true!
Once we realise we are all walking the same path, that we are all connected, our choices will affect those around us. We can always choose to be kind, and you'll find that happiness comes easy :)
Loved your post. Thank you for sharing

You know I have actually never asked myself those questions...I have always just told people that I am God's idea and any problems they have with that they should go and take it up with Him :)

Thank you too for replying and enriching this conversation :) Much love, Bergling

@bergling What I feel to say that For some, life is about adoration. For a couple, life is about religious practices. "Joy is the importance and the motivation behind life, the entire point and end of human presence."

I agree. This is what I mean with "...there is the will to live passionately. And if the will fades, the world has enough to offer to rekindle it." People find sense and joy in things around them, be it adoration, religious practices or anything else. And if, for some reason, they can't find joy in it anymore, they can look around for new joy. Personally, I find joy in detaching from identity and simply absorbing the world as it is. The good thing about this, is that no matter in what kind of state I'm in and no matter where I am, I can swiftly turn to absorbing without judging and it will always fill me with happiness.

Life is a movie, we are actors!

Yes...different day, different play is how I try to look at it!!!

Nice post, that got pretty deep :)

Life itself is the meaning

That is a very cool thought...yes life itself is where it is all at. Waking up on the wrong side of the grass is the only other option so I am always good when the day starts with me breathing :)
