The age of the vegan is upion us and everywhere I read there are vegan this and vegan that. I wouldn't mind , I can choose not to read this but when it is pushed on you that is where I draw the line. That's your choice but I am happy how I am thank you. Yes I am aware that that is a pig's eye. It does look quite like a human eye. I understand but I am not going to be put off by that anytime soon. I was interviewing a girl for a position in my company the other week. We shook hands
Hi I'm Paul, pleased to meet you.
HI I'm Alice, thanks for asking me for the interview.
So tell me a bit about yourself Alice?.....
Well I'm from Kilkenny and I am vegan.

OK let's stop this right here. Veganism is not just a life choice , it is now a sub culture. Why would anyone tell me what they like to eat at the start of a job interview. I can never remember anyone say
My name is Shelia and I love a good steak
I have no problem with people abstaining from meat and dairy. That's their own loss in my opinion. Plenty more ham sandwiches for me at work do's. There's a lentil sandwich over there with hairs on it. But stop bleating on about it like it defines you. And also stop telling me about the poor animals getting treated badly when I am in the middle of eating the arse of one of them as we speak.
You may as well be talking to the wall. I was a self proclaimed "Meatatarian" up to the age of 25. I only ate meat. The vegtables were put to the side with the rabbit food salad. I loved a well done steak and then one came out medium rare and I ate that and I loved it more. A bacon sandwich or a burger after a night out is one of the nicest things that life can offer in my opinion. I bet there are vegans out there that wake up after a party with a doner kebab beside them. There has to be. I just look at vegan recipes and wonder where the taste is. I have been to alot of nice hotels and the vegan menu sounds awful and looks the same. I got one just to try one night to see if I could do it. Good restaurant with many awards. If I am going to be so against it in my idealogy I gonna have to ruin a meal by trying it. I had a tofu scramble with avocado.

Look , they tried their very best, the poor souls of the chefs looking at me like the germans looked at the jews, waiting for a complaint. It was tasty but it was missing bacon. There was just no substitute for the real thing unfortunately. The one good thing is that you would lose weight on a vegan diet but you will be cold in the winter time.
It wasn't until I got to Germany that I realised half the world doesn't eat pork. I was shocked and horrified and could not believe that a religion would ban something so tasty. Christens are not meant to eat meat on Friday (Ha,good one Jesus!) but the muslims are not allowed eat bacon at all. Holy Moses (he was in both books by the way!!)

So in summary I love bacon and noone will persuade me otherwise even if they show me a picture of "Babe" chasing sheep around the farm. Unfortunately for me most of Steemit are snowflakes and the most common trait among snowflakes is that they are vegansss. So I need the meateaters of Steemit to stand up and be proud. @braaiboy is definately one. Who is with me?
FREEEEEEDOOOOOOMMMMMM to not get commented on when tucking into a bacon sandwich!!!

Yeah, I used to get a lot of flack from Vegans/Vegetarians when I first started my BraaiBoy journey, and got into more than my fair share of debates/fights about what was wrong... with both sides.

Nowadays, I just ignore them when they try to troll my social pages.

However, Bacon is a whole argument on its own, and deserves defending at all costs :P

😂😂😂😂😂. @braaiboy whenever you are surrounded again send the bacon signal up to the sky and I will come in like a flash waving a medium rare ribeye! That ‘ll sort m.

Careful Blanchy, don't let the extreme vegans come for you. I definitely agree though, Veganism is a choice and I don't know why it is being treated as a culture with meat eaters made to look like the bad guys.

I think I'll use the "I Love a good steak line" if anyone abrasively introduces themselves as vegan to me

I love a woman that loves a good steak empress!

Agree completely my brother has married into a vegan family and it's more than just a life choice, it's like a cult.

I have found myself at times questioning whether I should eat meat or not and have even been put off from finishing my meal when I have pictured in my head that it was once a live animal now I am about to eat it.

But then I will wake up feeling rough on a Sunday morning after a night out and all that goes out the window as I pile as much crispy bacon on a sandwich as possible.

The meat guilt disappears with a hangover @jclark. I don’t care if doner kebab meat is the lowest of the low. It tastes like paradise!

In England, fish & chips are a national dish, don't know vegans opinion on that but I guess they are against it.
And there is the problem, "they" are against everything.
I often think that protest groups would do better if the were 'FOR' something.

Totally agree. Who doesn’t like a fish and chip?? Especially the ones from newspaper on a beach in Blackpool. At least the veggies can eat fish. I’ve a vegan friend that’s sole purpose in life is to turn everyone vegan. It would be more in her line to look for a job!

I feel cheated if one day passes and I haven't had some type of meat. Happened once and it won't happen again.

Especially where you live . Delicious delicious meat. I was on safari down your way and the ranger pointed out an animal. I happened to have a fillet of it the night before . Kind of like an antelope but bigger. I was nearly jumping out of the Range Rover with a fork and knife

The title made me bookmarked this post so I MUST read it and here I am! PORK cooked in any way is LIFE! Though I've tried many vegan food, just cause my colleague is one, it WILL NEVER come close to the real thing. Just like you mentioned.

In Malaysia, we have vegan restaurant and their veges are made in a way it looks and tastes like meat. A mockup meat.... I mean why try to fool urself into eat meat when it's not.

Be what you are..and dont change yourself for the sake of few post who favors different taste. ..how could anyone introduce themselves as vegan...it was very hilarious....do people also introduce like...i am straight or i am gay....she must be trying to be more advanced by showing her tastes skills.....

Anyway i would suggest do not let anyone change you unless and untill you do not want to change....

Steemflow you hit the nail on the head . And yeah you are right about the straight and gay thing! Who cares! 😂😂.

Thanks @blanchy...these is pretty straight thing why anyone could think of changing for tye sake of others...

I haven't seen that much about veganism lately, I thought it was largely a fad that had faded down to just the extreme few. It seems like fat is all the rage now, butter and so on. I for one have always eaten a lot of butter, so I can only pretend to be following the fad. Accupuncture has also gotten popular, and TCM does not advocate being vegan. They are like "have you made broth with chicken legs lately?"

I know a big hit of protein makes me feel better, ie meat.

We re about 6 months behind the states @ginnyannette . I can’t wait till this butter phase hits ! I love butter 😀😀😀. What’s TCM?

Posted using Partiko iOS

The butter phase is lovely. TCM is Tradition Chinese Medicine.

Actually I just realized it's Irish butter that's in style - grass fed cow's butter. I love Kerry Gold. So delicious and pretty yellow instead of that cheap butter that's almost white.

Yep we are a Kerrygold family. Nothing nicer on toast or potato! We use it quite a bit. But now it’s healthy! Woooo

hahaha! oh man I can't get enough bacon, I can eat a whole package by myself and Kerrybutter's the best!
Did that vegan girl get the job? lol.

I made a point of replying to her while eating a bacon sandwich. I told her she was stressing me out and that it was her fault she was eating meat. You should look into whaleshares @janton . You would like it and the rewards are great because it’s just started . They need good storytellers like yourself

ok, I've heard of em, what kind of tokens do you earn there?

Wls tokens . If you are interested let me know

hey sir blanchy! first of all they have you and you're a great story teller with hilarious stories.

secondly, I was raised on a beef cattle farm and when we first got to Texas I worked as a grill master on a smoker in a BBQ restaurant.

We smoked the beef brisket for 12 hours with Mesquite wood and it was like heaven. we also did pork and beef ribs, every kind of sausage, turkey and chicken, for awhile we did breakfast with the best, thickest bacon you ever saw! lol. so yes I have alot of experience when it comes to meats
so I can relate to your post.

04763E4F-0B0E-479D-A2B3-12E6002C63E3.jpegI’m salivating all over my Guinness here

lol. there's a good BBQ place just 2 miles from us, they use a similar technique and smoke the brisket for 12 hours, it's like a slice of heaven! well, for most people.

I've never had a Guinness, is that stuff really black? looks pretty strong.

You .... have ...... never ....... had ..... a Guinness? You haven’t lived. When you coming to visit me ?? That’s when you can have your first one! Yeah the yanks think it’s more filling than a steak! They are right.

lol! so they are really black? I don't even know if they sell them here so I guess I'll wait till my Ireland trip!
