The harvest was the time for farmers to celebrate the fruits of the growing season. My favourite celebration is a time to always remind oneself that it is what we have, and that we share - not what we have not, or fear we lack. We tend to judge ourselves and others by money or possessions. Ultimately the greatest value is in the unseen. Health, family or friends, children, a present moment, a warm dry bed, etc. Our sense of peace in life is found this. Our resistance is also our attachment to money, possessions, things... ambition is good, but so is stopping to appreciate, and give thanks. It could be worse, and bad or good, it is ultimately all good, our conciousness having a life experience in an attempt to wake us up to the present. Now, let's celebrate how thankful and grateful we can find reason to be - and break open the peaches!
