If the dishwasher is backing up the sink drain, there's a sizable clog that is not likely to be loosened by any chemical that wouldn't eat through the pipe anyway. At this point, it seems the clog is beyond where the dishwasher drain ties into the sink drain, so the plumber will likely remove the grease-trap and run a small drain-snake to clear the obstruction. You should avoid potentially mixing reactive chemicals in your clogged sink in the future, my friend. :)
