The stomach normally produces acid to help digest food and kill microbes (bacteria). This acid is highly corrosive, and therefore, some cells in the inner lining of the mint and the first part of the intestine (small intestine), known as the duodenum, form a natural mucous membrane. This protects the stomach and duodenum.

What causes stomach ulcer? Normally, there is a balance between the amount of acid produced by the stomach and the mucous membrane defense barrier
