THE GIFT OF GIVING
It was valentines day, I was out of town for work when I suddenly realised that I had not organised a gift for my wife! this was not going to end well.. Not long after, whilst scrolling through twitter catching up on some morning crypto news and inspiring tweets, I came across a post by the one and only @stan
I was intrigued, what perfect timing.. $50 is about the cost of a bunch of flowers!
I visit The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and soon realise I have the opportunity to adopt or gift the adoption of an orphaned Elephant! What better way to show the one you love how big your heart is, than by helping to rescue a beautiful animal?
This was a win/win situation.. It felt amazing to be able to give my wife such a thoughtful gift that she would appreciate, whilst also helping to save a life!
Meet Zurura, our Elephant!

As a tiny calf Zurara had fallen down an open faced mine that was dug for rubies on "Mukuki Ranch" between Tsavo West and East during a moonless night. Unfortunately the Matriarch had to make the terrible decision to abandon the trapped tiny baby in order to ensure the safety of the rest of her family before daybreak.
Each Elephant has their own story about their rescue, the stories are all very heartwarming.
Visit the Fostering Program and select an orphan to hear their full story.
This overwhelming feeling got me thinking.. think of the difference we could make in this world, if when it came to buying a friend or family member a gift for a particular occasion, instead of us all standing there at the shops scratching our heads and ending up wasting money on something they don't need and will never use. How about we seek out and help all the many foundations out there, doing beautiful things for our world. What better way to show a loved one and the world you care, than the gift of giving?
