RE: Why I gave most of my money & stuff away and lived in a Shipping Container before it was fashionable. The Life & Times of Barry Dutton.

Great Post Barry!
It's nice to more about the 'real' you.
I lived in a container from a Hino truck for 8 months too.

My ex and I drove the truck to El Salvador, and unloaded the container on his sister's property. We cut out a door and window and basically made it into a bedroom, but used his sister's house for everything else.

It was a poor country and I didn't have the luxuries that I was used too, but it was enough. I was content. He ended up cheating on me and I left, but that's a whole other story. Other than that, I enjoyed the simple life and the friendly people. I think it would be a good thing for everybody to experience living this way for a while and realize that you don't need all the stuff that we are used to to be happy.
I even spent time with peasants up in the mountains, where there was no electricity. It was all a great learning experience.

Not to many people get that down to earth experience especially up in the mountains.

I really get that. I relate to that story a lot.

I am glad you took time to comment today with that!!!

Thank you.
