You are right that we should talk about depression more, and more openly. The same could probably be said about a lot of other unpleasant things - there is a lot of pressure to keep up the mask of appearance and talk about the mosaic of positive things in your life that make up your mask. Talking about what is actually going on, inside, as a person - in too many settings this is discouraged. So lord help someone who isn't sure what is going on inside and wants to talk about it - it doesn't fit in very well with the world of masks.
