I couldn't sleep very well last night, so around 3:00 am maybe 3:30 am I turned on the TV, and the news was on I typically try to avoid the local news stations because the only thing I ever see on it is bad things going on around the town, and truthfully there is already enough negativity and bad in this world so why bother hearing about even more eh? I mean why can't they filter it and make it 50 50, or do segments on good and then through in a few bad here and there after all I like to lie top myself and tell myself I live in a great city here in St. Louis and everything is always happy and great... and Yes I do believe my self spoken lie. Anyhow I decided since its been nagging at me all day to try something a little different out if it gets feedback and enough of it I'll actually take my Roku TV channel; that I'm developing and I'll base it strictly around positive and/or good things going on nation wide... (Seriously) if it doesn't get much attention or love thrown at it then I will pitch the idea on Facebook later... who knows.
Heres a random act of kindness picture I found, I personally am not the type of guy that would walk up and hug a person holding a sign, but the shear fact that he took the time to think about it, create his sign and then go out and do it... amazing man. Awesome I really hope everything is going good for this guy.
Next up this person taking on the rain so the little flower didn't have to drowned, I like this picture and even with out the thought of kindness, or helping this image gets its point a crossed:
Last but not least this one is inspirational, this man walks up and gives this homeless gentlemen a new pair of shoes, I don't know about you but though I've done my fair share of good deeds this one I have yet to do but truthfully I may actually go do this this weekend.
All emotions a side I had a small tear try to sneak out of my eye but my girlfriend came walking by so I quickly got all manly and didn't let that tear slide out... I'll probably wait and go to the bathroom when I'm done with this story post.
For those of you who read this, I'm not saying all news all the time is bad, but local news for the most part is usually just bad stuff... robberies, crime, people hurt, suffering, more riots from the Michael Brown incident (which I'm not saying anything towards it) my point is sometimes we as people just need Hope.. and I usually get hope from hearing the positive acts of our race... not the bad or shameful. I wish you all well I hope you enjoyed this.
I just stopped watching the local news over a month ago. I got to the point where I felt it just wasn't true (or a significant portion)and it was pushing an agenda of lies on us to control the way we think about and view the world.
I am the oldest of 3 in my family and my younger brother and I used to tease our younger sister so much it got to the point where even if we were telling the truth she just wouldn't believe us.
I liken this to the current state of our media. Even this fake news push just reaks of lies and a false agenda. Its almost a desperate act to try retain its audience and discredit their alt news competition.
My question is how do we know with the media what is the truth and what us fake. It takes trust and for me I have lost all trust in them much like my sister did with her older brothers.
Btw I agree with your post. Theres also more good in the world and by and large more good people in the world than we realise. Years of negative media has warped our perception of this.
I'm loving your response. I to wonder whats right and wrong.. I really wish there was something that could be done, Like you I am the oldest as well of 6 but when it comes to the media they dont understand their responisbilities to us as people we really do rely on what they say to know whats going on and that my friend is why they control so much.
The news is meant to kill hope. People with hope are harder to control.
You know what, that actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. Hope is a really strong thing, not something I'd want to take from someone.
