That is the exact type of content I upvote as well. I take a similiar strategy(not 2 weeks..) but I definitely spend time on the articles I write. It's a process, like you said, you have to first come to an idea that you would want to write about. Then compile photos and information and write the post. On average I'd say a few hours for a post for me is normal.
The only thing that's upsetting, but normal for a person new to the platform is the post getting lost and drowned out. I've spent a few hours on a post before, to have it not got attention the first hour it was live and get lost in the sea of other posts. It is just demotivating - to spend a good amount of time producing a piece only for no one to see it. I get it though, its part of the process and journey here on steemit.
Again, I loved the post. Far often I can tell when a person took 2 minutes create a post..which I guess could be fine given a situation... but you know what I was getting at! :)
