To be consistent...

in #life7 years ago (edited)

I don’t want to sound like I’m indifferent to the struggles and complains of some people. But, its a matter of fact that a big factor in “winning” at life is to understand the need of consistency and focus. We all know this, and most of us have heard a version of this wisdom a few times in our life, but for some reason we are always too quick to forget it.

It might be that most of us are programmed to expect immediate results, meaning that if we start a chore, a task and the fruits of doing so are not instantly apparent, we simply give up. Since I’ve always been one to work with the rule and not the exception, let me pose some interesting questions to bring perspective into the reflection.

What can be accomplished easily and still be valuable? What is the value of the lack of effort? What is the difference between those who persevere and those who don't?

I hope that you are attempting to answer those questions with the utmost sincerity. After all, there is nothing to be gained, no knowledge to be obtained from not being honest with oneself. I often ask these questions to people, specially when they seem too eager to complain about their current situation.

It almost does not matter in what field you work in, what specific career you chose. You could be a scientist, a teacher or an artist. Consistency is the bricks with which you will build your legacy. If you are not willing to carry the bricks, to lay the foundation of your purpose with consistency, you are almost guaranteeing that you won’t achieve much.

Love yourself, but do so understanding that you also have to be fair with yourself. Have the discipline to be consistent, to focus on what matters and enjoy every second of that journey, every nuance along the way.

Until next time

I do agree with you. Consistency is one of the keys to be success in every field. However, some of people sometimes feel tired of being consistent when the environment does not support what they consistently do. How ironic! Thanks anyway, @chbartist.

Consistency is one of the most underrated personality traits for us humans. It is better to be consistently average than to perform today and miss it tomorrow.

Just like Steemit. If you really want to build firends and make some money, you would need to be consistent in your content and develop patience while you wait

La consistencia, el esfuerzo y el trabajo arduo son elementos claves para lograr las metas que nos propongamos, solo hace falta las ganas de hacerlo, buen post para reflexionar, un abrazo amigo, @chbartist.

This is insightful!
To be consistent in ones course should be given a priority.

I am privileged to have stumbled upon this very inspiring post filled with insight from @chbartist. I'll be very sure to keep the main point in mind- consistency!
