Hey Jessiples
This is the word of Jess and I don't care if you may have ADD, ADHD or AD4K 2160p you really need to get the picture. I'm sitting here watching the highlights of South Africa (Bafana Bafana's) lose against Moroco at this years Afcon after coming home from my soccer match. We lost tonight even though we were the better team and It often gets me thinking is talent and skill too hyped up for how much of a point it plays in the overall outcome of success.
The problem tonight and why we lost was everyone wanted to go forward and try to score and wasn't interested in putting in the hard graft and the ugly stuff, tracking your man, getting back behind the ball, getting tight to your man and trying to win the ball back, they would rather waste their energy on trying to beat the man and score.
I don't often like to defend as its not my best trait I prefer picking my passes and stringing moves together, but I cannot play my natural game if people aren't willing to do off the ball runs and find space for me to find them, because that's not the glamorous part of the game. Everyone wants to be the Messi and try to run past as many players as they can but that's not how football is played.

All glory and no guts
I feel this behaviour rings true in many facets of life, everyone wants the glamorous wedding day but they don't want to have to deal with all the shit marriage throws at them hence the high divorce rate.
We all want to be managers and executives who seem to do nothing but don't want to earn our own keep.
We all want to look our best and use products and all sorts of workarounds when its basically down to diet and exercise, discipline and work.
People will literally do any and everything to avoid having to do hard work, they will outsource, beg, lie, manipulate, fight and even cheat to get to avoid working hard. I find it really strange because I know many people who are the happiest when they are grinding away on a project when they come back from the gym or when they finished a sports game when they've created something artistic with their time.
There is something you learn about yourself and get out of labour and applying yourself to a task that can bring you real satisfaction. So I fail to see why people refuse to apply themselves, have we just become a soft, lazy and entitled people? Has social media and instant gratification just exacerbated what was already there all along?
Have your say
Holla at me in the comments! All my commenters I will now refer to as Jessie. Jessie is a good friend of mine, but Jessies got a girl, and I want to make her mine.
So have at it my Jessies! If you don't have something to comment, simply comment "I am a Jessie."

Sometimes furtunes or good luck don't come to those who worked hard but those who utilized the little opportunity they had and/or those who work smart.

That's a common misconception, you don't get to a point where you can work smart without working hard. Working smart comes from hours of trial and error
