This is an extremely well written article. My feelings exactly. The consumer culture leads one to feel they are less important than they actually are. The constant ads - i don't have cable tv but that doesn't mean they're aren't ads fucking everywhere else. The radio is AMONG the worse. A lot of these sales pitches are AIMED at the insta-gratification society that we are a part of. You must act now! The sale ends tomorrow! Oh my god! You must get this new trendy thing right now because we are running low on stock!
Don't even get me started on women's clothing. Like, I like to look nice, etc etc. But if its not comfortable I don't give a damn how trendy it is, i won't wear it. Ultimately, clothingis meant to be functional. Do you think the ancient Mesopotamians spent all their time concerned about skinny jeans? NO

Thank you! You are so right, the radio is terrible. Especially the ad's the radio DJ's say worked for them so you should try it NOW! I do not have cable either but I make up for missing those ad's by being on the internet and like you said, the radio! I am also all about comfy clothes. I cannot stand to be uncomfortable.
