I knew a person who thinks he is a successful man and he lives a successful life. Yes, he is a successful man and leading a successful life in the eyes of our society. He is a first-class officer, earns a huge amount of money, lives in a big size apartment, he has every possible thing he deserves. But in my eyes, he is not a successful person. Let me explain.
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful. - Albert Schweitzer.
As he said, happiness is the key to success. If you're not happy then you're not a successful person. Many times, we failed to know what is happiness?
Happiness doesn't depend on what we have, but it does depend on how we feel toward what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much. - William D. Hoard
Exactly, happiness doesn't depend on what we have. The person I am talking about shouldn't be in the list of Happier just because he is wealthy. To be happy we have to be happy about what we have, how we feel about what we have. But after having much wealth then avobe that man is not happy, he demands more, he wants more and he needs more. That asking rate makes him unhappy and which make him unsuccessful in real life.
Rules for Happiness: something to do, someone to love, something to hope for. - Immanuel Kant
Other big points of being happy and being successful in life. Not only him, but also many people I know who left his/her family for so-called success. They are separated from their family, friends, even home. They don't have time to loving someone, they have worries, not hope. They are worried about their family but don't spend time with their family.
Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is a success. - Henry Ford
Back to the main point. A few moments ago, I was talking about living with family and giving time to them. Yah, successful man doesn't have time for this. In their entire life, they are searching for wealth. When they will look back, they will see they left their friends long ago, even they don't have a good relationship with their family too. If you can't spend time with what is yours, how can you tell yourself you are a successful person?
Success is to do what I love to do. A bank officer can't play football what he loves when he was young, because he is busy now. A businessman can't attend his son's birthday party because he was busy with his client. And most pathetic part is, a well established wasn't with father when his father got old and died because he was busy. Two years ago a piece of news broke my heart. A government officer died alone and was in a morgue for two weeks in Bangladesh because his two sons weren't there. One was in Australia and another one was in America. They all are successful in the eyes of our society, but in the end, all were unsuccessful in the eyes of life.
