Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis has many causes. There are actually two kinds of excessive sweating conditions, namely generalized hyperhidrosis and focal hyperdydrosis. Both conditions focus on the excess sweating symptoms that occur in some people. What causes excessive sweating is brought up in both categories of hyperhidrosis.

Generalized Hyperhidrosis

The sufferer can sweat from any part of the body when they have generalized hyperhidrosis, as opposed to one localized problem area. Stress and other psychological problems are also contributing factors to generalized hyperhidrosis.
Focal Hyperhidrosis
This is a condition in which the sufferer experiences excessive sweating in particular areas of the body like the armpits, feet, or head. There are genetic causes that play into the excessive sweating in focal hyperhidrosis. Excessive sweating that is mainly confined to one particular part of the body is a symptom of many different disorders. For example, one who sweats from their face while eating or right after has what is called Frey’s Syndrome.
What causes excessive sweating in individuals can be a lot of conditions that has excessive sweating as symptoms. Other than natural factors of what causes excessive sweating, diseases and disorders are the usual culprits. Hormones can also be what causes excessive sweating in some individuals as well as some psychological disorder that relates to anxiety and phobias.
High temperatures, thick clothing, exertion, certain foods and numerous other things are natural factors that could cause excessive sweating. These factors can easily be controlled to fit the person. A person can cure excess perspiration unless the cause is a medical condition which renders it irreversible.
The problem is easy to fix once you figure out what is causing the extreme sweating. If you want to locate the triggers of your sweating then a doctor can run tests to pinpoint the causes.
