@amarbir, I believe that in order to be who you truly are, you cannot care about what others think of you, or you will constantly be trying to please everyone, to your own detriment. And if you feel the situation or circumstance does not "feel right", then just walk away as @jaynie said. That way you dont get upset, your dignity stays intact and the other person can interpret that however they wish!
I agree with @jaynie and you and I'm a big fan of walking away and shutting my mouth where needed. But certain situations do always demand a response and confrontation is what you have left. That's all I mean to say. Who cares about pleasing someone else. Being joyful and loving and giving your best for doing the right thing as per your perception even though it may or may not be right ( because you cannot always be right ) is also awesome.
