In my opinion, you mentioned two different things
- Enjoy life today, not tomorrow or somewhere in the future
- Meet new people, especially in your neighborhood.
I enjoy life today very much, I got an early retirement because my husband is much older and I like to spend my life with him in our house in France (part of the year) and in the Netherlands (the other part).
We regularly meet new people, but I also like the life around my house, in my garden, in the beautiful surroundings here in the Morvan.
It's also nice to enjoy the new contacts here on Steemit and to learn from other people, people you (will) never met, but you learn to know them a little by sharing your life.
That's what I thought when I read your post, which I liked very much.
