RE: What is it like to be POOR. What is it like to struggle in life and find ways to eat?

Thank you for your story today. It made a lot of people also share their stories and it was very emotional to read them. I never knew real poverty, my parents were only just above poverty. We had to make choices when I was young like shoes or a coat, but one of the two was possible. Not always, but sometimes. We shared dresses and other clothes in the family, my nieces were a little older and when my nieces had grown out of their clothes, those clothes came to us whether we liked them or not, we were going to wear them. But that is not real poverty at all of course. I studied hard, had a job in education and now I am retired. I am doing reasonable well and I am like you, I help people when I can.

I know. I didn't realize the depth of how many other people could relate and the stories were very shocking and comforting at the same time. It brings about unison of so many people.

The human race is greater than it seems. We all share so much in common in many forms. It is only rare times like this, that it becomes obvious.

I think that that is one of the strong points of Steemit, to share your story with other human beings all over the world.
