My Grandparent's, My Life

in #life7 years ago

Since I was a kid, my opportunity to live life beside my parents has gone. I lived with my Grandparents since I was 6 years old. They raise me in a different way , actually it is very different. My grandmother is a house wife while my grandfather is a retired soldier, so he is very strict and of course most of the kids don't like that including me. My grandfather is the one who supporting me in school. He pays all the fees including books, tuition fee etc. while my grandmother is the one who takes care of me.

They have a lots of lots of house rules and I don't like the most of it. I will just mentioning 4 rules that actually has a purpose that I didn't recognize immediately what is the benefits for my self, 2 that I hated the most and the rest vise versa. Let me start in the rules that I hated the most. First rule is "You need to help in house chores" so it is very unfair for a 6 years old kid right? but I don't have any choice I need to follow that rule even if I don't know what are the house chores. Every Sunday my grandmother and I always do some washing of clothes. Everyday I washed the dishes. Everyday I sweeping the floor. I always helped her in all house chores because that is the rule and I can't never break that. But this rule made me realized that helping and doing some house chores are very hard but it can change you for life, it will save you from being lazy. Second is "Don't use a cellphone or play some computer games" this rule is very confusing I hate it. I'm always jealous to my friends that they are always playing some computer games and cellphone games. I can't even look at it. My grandfather said to me that "play some games that are not associated in gadgets" I don't know why he said that. But know I know, they just don't wan't me to become one of the people that are addicted in computer and cellphone games. Like what they heard, saw and read in the news. So I grew up without cellphone or computer, I don't even know how to use and play it. But of course now I already using it. next is the first rule that I liked the most is "Become a good person" I don't know why they made this rule. But somehow I realized that being a good person is not only just being a kind person. But also being a polite, humble, strong, independent, wise etc. being a good person can't describe you in just a simple kindness or just a simple politeness or something. It is how you interact or how you treat others. I remember what's my grandfather says that love others as much as you love your self. And many people will love you too. When he said this I promise that I will be a good person as they are. Lastly, "don't fail to school" if I fail they will not gonna let me go to school again. This rule I love the most because it motivates me to pursue my dreams. And of course not to FAIL.Living with grandparents is so sad and boring but if you appreciate all the things they've done to you, you will just be thankful that you have them.

Today they are both gone, but I promise my self that I will finish my study and become a successful engineer someday. This is not only for my self but for the people who sacrifice for me, which are my grandparents. They don't just motivate me but they also made me a good person like them. Maybe they are not perfect but they are the best for me. They love and support me as their son, they give all the things that I need, they fulfill all the love and care that I have lost in my parents even they are already old. I'm very thankful to god that even if it is hard for me he always giving me strength to hold on. I love you both and Thank you for everything. My Grandparents, My life.
