I cant imagine my life without internet and technology but even in places that there isn't any internet due to for example a natural disaster or a corrupted government there are ways to communicate with others.

Two example apps:

• Signal Offline Messenger
• Firechat

Both apps works kinda similar creating a mesh network for communication. The more people using them the more range you get.
People will surely adapt until something better comes along.
