The ships graveyard in Bangladesh

Ships have life too, and when it ends they are sent for scrap.They contain a lot of metal, and extremely profitable to recycle it.The share of Chittagong accounts for half of all steel produced in Bangladesh.There is a graveyard of ships there.

Thousands of low-paid workers dismantle old ships is several times cheaper than in Europe.The monthly salary of workers is 60-70 dollar (when the working week – 6 days 12 hours).

But such conditions have consequences...Engine oil blend directly on the beach,allowable level of lead is exceed 120 times  -  Chittagong is one of the most polluted places in the world.

Apparently,they all don't care about the environment...
