As I was saying in the previous article, happiness is the most important thing in life, but we always complain about not being happy instead of doing something about it.
The truth is, the recipe for happiness is not that complicated. You just have to bring to your life the previous 5 ingredients, along with these 5 others. So, here is the recipe for happiness, part two!
Make new goals
Always write new things on your bucketlist. Write anything that goes through your mind. It will motivate you to keep going and you’ll have a lot of fun writing it and dreaming about places you want to visit and things you want to try.
Be at peace with your past
It’s easier said than done, but I’m not telling you to forget your entire past. Maybe you have some memories locked somewhere and you don’t want to access them, all I’m telling you is to let them there and to move on.
Always see the bright side
Every moment has good and bad parts. What’s important is to see the full side of the glass, to enjoy this moment and to appreciate it’s positive aspects.
If you’re always focusing on the empty side of the glass, you’re missing out on the simple pleasures of life and you’re making everyone around you anxious, because negativity is contagious.
Feel good in your own skin
All we do is look in the mirror and judge ourselves. “I’m too fat, my hair is too thin, I don’t like the color of mu eyes”. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be motivated to take care of yourself and be in a good shape, but let’s face it.
You’re the youngest you’ll ever be, and you should really appreciate this moment and start loving yourself for who you are. You’re never going to be happy if you don’t like yourself. You have to live in your own skin your entire life, so why not enjoy it, right?
Try to be a part of something bigger
We all need to know that we’re part of a bigger plan. We need to leave something behind, to do something important, to know that we matter. I believe that for this, we just have to go with the flow of our lives and to live our mission.
For me, it matters to know I’m writing for Steemit and some people might find my articles helpful. For others, it might matter to feed the stray dogs every day.
Thank you @cpds I'd add another ingridient to the dish of happiness - learning to be SATISFIED despite the media and advertising telling us "never to be satisfied and never to settle" (actual add wording). Nobody can make you happy but you yourself. Nobody can make you unhappy but your own reactions alone. "It's easy to be heavy, it's hard to be light".
Simple but so important ;)
