India is going to launch 1.24 Billion dollars Chandrayaan-2 mission. This will be ISRO's first ever inter-planetary mission in space to land a rover on the moon's south pole. Chandrayaan-2 is an extension to the Chandrayaan-1 mission in which ISRO spotted water on the surface of the moon on October 22nd, 2008.
Chandrayaan-2, the lunar mission under which the ISRO will for the first time attempt to land a rover on the moon's south pole, will be launched in April, Jitendra Singh, in-charge of the Department of Space said today.
According to ISRO, the targeted launch date for Chandrayaan-2 is April 2018, however, in case they missed the April date, due to any weather conditions then, mission launch will be postponed till November 2018. Moreover, the Chandrayaan-2 rover will land near the unexplored south pole of the moon. This side of the moon has oldest rock formations (millions of years old!!). This could surely help humans to understand the origin of the universe.
Key Points of Chandrayaan-2 Mission:
The mission will be India's first ever attempt to land a rover on Moon's south pole.
Possible launch -- April 2018
Launch Vehicle - GSLV-F10
Cost of mission - $1.24 Billion
Components of this mission
a) Orbiter - This will be launched into a 62 Mile lunar orbit
b) Lunar Lander - This will support descent, controlled landing of rover on the designated site area
c) Rover - Will collect samples of rocks and send pictures and important information related to the mission.

The mission, which would cost about ~800 crore, will be the first time India will attempt to land a rover on the moon’s south pole. “The rover will land near an as-yet-unexplored south pole,” Isro’s new chairperson, K Sivan said to the reporters.
This mission is very critical from the future point of view as this will help ISRO to develop heavier lift launch vehicles, reusable vehicles (Just like Space X reusable booster rockets) and heavy platforms to support manned missions.
This all is so exciting, first space X and now ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 mission. There is a lot to explore in the mystery world of space. Missions like these will help us understand the secrets of Universe. I'm very hopeful that one day (maybe in my lifetime), we all be able to see our spaceships travel faster than the speed of light with the help of wormholes and using concepts of quantum physics, which are still unsolved.
This Tesla car will keep reminding us about the one big step we made. Mars! we are coming!
Can you believe that nearest galaxy to the milky way (our galaxy) is Andromeda galaxy, which at a distance of about 2.5 million light-years, with current space technology is still far from reach? Sometimes, solutions to most complex problems are the simplest once. I'm sure that soon we will be able to figure out that simpler solution to travel in space with the speed of light (or faster). We need more visionary people like Elon Musk, who can take the risk to discover the mysteries of the universe.

If we want to conduct intergalactic missions in future, then we need to solve four main puzzles -
- How to travel faster than light?
- Economical Fuel for spaceships?
- How to stay unaffected by Space radiation? (Most of the astronauts die because of cancer!!)
- Solving impact of aging in space (If we can stop aging then might be we can space travel forever to go and see distant places).
In conclusion, I just want to say that future is really bright. This is just the start of new era of space exploration. Space agencies like Nasa, Space X, and ISRO only bring healthy competition. We need to find other planets like earth in other galaxies and make human colonies there.

Tesla roadster is space is really a mile stone in human history. I always wonder, why space agencies took 45 years after Apollo 17, December 11, 1972 mission to plan Moon missions?
There were so many Moon landing conspiracy theories floating around. Some seems real that Astronauts really saw aliens on Moon and Aliens warned them to stay away from moon.
Thanks for your comment Alex!
Aliens are on Moon.
Its really interesting to see India & ISRO doing such a great job. I remember how USA made fun of India, thinking that they will never able to reach space, however, India is coming strong. Moon here we come!!
Well ISRO is the underdog, however, they did really good job in satellite launching. Now Moon exploration! Next will be manned mission! Exciting stuff!
Well Said xavior.
I agree with this statement. Indian space agency really proved themselves, if you talk about economical Satellite launching.
Jald hi hum mars par bhi honge badhu.
I guess if we need to succeed then we need to forget our differences and all space agencies and bright brains should come together to bring us all to the space age.
Good point Nirza. On International Space Station several Space agencies are already collaborating and working together. Only reason India or ISRO is not part of any venture like this is sponsorship price. Everything comes with a price tag and right now I don't think ISRO is that well funded to be part of anything that big.
Well written article. Lets see what this Moon mission will explore.
Wow! creative pic.
Thanks Loca! I like the moon picture!
Very nice photo
@crypto.xavior - Nice article! Good to see India going to Moon.
Thanks Brother!
I wish soon we have human colony on Moon and Mars. I want to settle on Mars.
Haha, why don't you enroll in Marsone mission?
Space X and ISRO has no match if you consider finances, however, ISRO surely has that talent which will help India succeed and reach farther.
Space X (USA) is miles away from India in space race.
Proud of ISRO :)
Everyone should be proud of Space Agencies.
Space X is always the shining star. Tesla car will travel among the stars.

Well written article. Salute to our Scientists!
Thanks Nirza, I'm still learning.
India space agency is slow and steady.
But they have the burning desire to be the best in the whole world.
Bhout aacha lekh likhe ho aap.
Thank you sir.
welcome crypto.xavior, nice to meet you!
Thanks @lopezdacruz, appreciation is much required as I'm learning to write and I don't think I'm a good writter, still trying my best to learn, try, adopt and improvise.
You can't forget the contribution of USSR (Soviet space program) if talking about Space exploration.
Yes, they are the 1st one! Always have great respect for them.
Nice post. I will follow you. Please follow me if you like.
Thanks Gayatri. Appreciate your comment.
Oh! that's a brilliant article my friend. Keep sharing great articles like this.
@cryptoqu33n Thanks my friend. Because of your pushing, I'm giving it a try. I'm not sure how good response I'll get.
When Moon!! Literally!
On April 2018!
Thanks for sharing this nice information! Expecting more from you. Welcome to steemit!
Thanks Harry. I'll try my best. I'm a new writer. Never written any article like this my whole life so, appreciation is must required.
Do you know when they are doing to do Manned mission to Moon or mars?
Its all still in pipeline. It all depends on how Chandrayaan -2 mission will go. If they succeed, then the mission data will help them to plan further for manned mission.
ISRO should start doing space tourism. They can make a tons of money.
I wish, however still they need to first send 1st man in space and make sure that one come back safely.
Chinese Space Agency is the best.
Oh! yes, they are but ISRO is also good.
Another nice article from you. Keep going CX
Thanks Anniebee for your encouraging words.
One step at a time! Mankind is moving towards Space age.
Yes, space race just started by Space X.
Can we see a collaboration between Space X & ISRO in near future?
Time has the answer to all these questions.
Brilliant article. 你会像凤凰一样升起,前往遥远的世界
Thanks my friend.
Nice article @crypto.xavior. I wish to see more and more articles from you. Upvoted and following you from now on.
Thanks @tan-eunseo - I'll try my best to meet your expectation. Still learning. I'm not as good as you are in creative work.

Thanks my friend.
That will be a day to feel really proud of ISRO and being an Indian filled you with joy and patriotism. Jai Barat.
Sure it will be a proud moment.
Really interesting article. Resteemed, upvoted and followed you. Its strange why no whale is voting this really interesting article? What about Indians, no country voting?
Thanks for your comment @martjeagter. I'm a new writer, might be that's the reason that its not attracting lots of people. My indians friends upvoted me.
