Gelukkige verjaardag woudt olso be corect, but it is not the way it is used.
Told you it's useless. Similar but wouldn't take that long to learn Dutch I don't think. The basics are there somewhat.
It is more then just basics. Everybody here would understand you and be charmed by your accent.
