It is about 10 days now that I've not been active on my esteem app. I've been counseling some youths who happened to be frustrated, courtesy of the economic crisis in my country.
After the session, I could get hold of something which was very common among everyone of them: INDECISION.
Young people or will I say we, youths of nowadays keep placing blames over our parents, government, friends, uncles and aunts, employers and others that surround us. We do this excluding ourselves thinking we have nothing to do about it. WE ARE WRONG
Let me state it here that we have everything to do with how we live our lives. The Yorubas do say that "A baby who raises his hand will always be carried by his mother". This applies to the matured ones too. Our decision matters and has everything to do with how you live our lives. Our decisions are conduits to other activities performed by those surrounding us.
We blamed the government for high rate of unemployment. What happened to the skills we had from the University. Why can't we develop on that and be independent.
We blamed our parents for being poor. Yes, they have made some mistakes in their lives, but we can change that. We don't have to keep blaming them. Instead we should strive, learn a lesson or 2 from their mistakes and change the story.
Let's stop shifting blames on company owners for not employing us. We can work hard, create ours and make the world a better place for other young people.
Let's stop being dependent on our uncles and aunts for they too have a family of their own. We can't continue to be a pest in their lives. We can hustle to assist out nephews and nieces.
Let's stop borrowing from our friends if it's not for business creation/development. Rather, we should ask them to show us how to be successful legally.
