I once again like a broken record am grateful for my session which I again gloriously finished, well I better be because of the amount of Caffeine capsules that I was taking plus energy drinks and still my blood pressure gets depressed but bounces back after some minutes maybe due to the residual effects of Caffeine in my system.
You could be wondering why I am always saying "I survived my dialysis" it is because in the past I am having a long-time problem of having my blood pressure to stabilize during my session to the point that it already is affecting the quality of my dialysis because sometimes they just have to terminate it prematurely, sometimes I could not be removed with adequate extra fluids, or satisfactorily cleaned to the point that I get filled-up with fluids fast before my next session and more often all of the mentioned.
So I figured out that I have to make a way for me to be able to get an adequate and well executed dialysis session otherwise I will not last any longer so I had the idea of taking Caffeine which is the only way I can jack-up my blood pressure so that it won't fall like a brick.
Fortunately Caffeine is dialyzable, meaning it can be washed by the dialysis process otherwise I will just die from caffeine overdose since the recommended intake of Caffeine per day is just 400 mg while I myself is taking less than a gram or 1,000 mg per session. So I got confident when I experienced that the effects subside before the session ends or at least brings it to a more tolerable level for me.
I guess that most Caffeine really gets cleansed out because my BP goes down most of the time and I am happy that it works for me even though I regret in having to take Caffeine capsules because it makes me nervous at dialysis although I can tolerate it plus it is not good for my bones, I am just forced to take it because I need a good quality dialysis.
Now to help my body and mind relax and take away the residual stimulant effects of Caffeine I would take a little dose of Gabapentin. This medicine is what I use now to help me sleep as well plus give me a good sense of well-being with my mind and body. This is my routine after my dialysis so that I can feel better after each session.
Oh man! I'm reading this story in reverse chronology. You are a worry Pie man! I know any commentary on the subject of heart kidneys etc would be akin to lecturing the professor. But I can't help myself. Please be careful !!! We had a recent tragedy in my community when a young healthy man mistook caffeine powder for protein powder.
I really do appreciate your honnesty regarding your treatment and personal struggles. If only we were all as open and shared the things we do to compensate and self treat. Thank you for continuing to share your diary entries. I hope you got some sleep x
