Madrid reached 39° in the beginning of September. It's a good time for adventure outside of the boiling city. We picked Cercedilla, small town surrounded with mountains in north-west of Madrid. We are looking forward to cool off in their natural pools in the middle of almost unspoiled nature. We took the train and snack to cool our body with.
After reaching Cercedilla we met Jane. She was kind enough to tell us a bit of information about the town, we were told that the festival was happening in the town and all of it had been closed. We had to abandon our idea of cooling off in the pools because no bus was provided and pools were an hour away hill hiking in the heat. We settled in a restaurant and treated ourselves to a couple of cervezas. "We could see some of the park and enjoy the mountain air while we're here." Was the idea. We checked the map and started hiking up the hill. After several turns we reached an unlocked gate, went inside and saw town and forest lay beneath us.
The area was full of rocks which we as rock climbing beginners were happy to conquer.
Our aim was to get to the top of the hill. As we were walking to our goal we were noticing a lot of poops around. After a few more steps we saw a big black bull staring at us.
We were moving with precautions to get out of his sight. We spotted another black bull. It started to be apparent that we entered a bull enclosure. Sad as it sounds, a nap in the park was no longer possible. We turned back towards the gate. We didn't hear any angry gallops nor heavy panting. I guess this heat tired bulls down completely. We closed the gate behind us and looked back with fondness for those animals.
