I was going to start by writing a blog every few day, however, I went back to school and with my NCEA exams looming near, I forgot about posting and focused on my exams. But now finished I plan to post every few days about the upcoming farming harvest (with photos) and my cryptocurrency transactions
NCEA is short for National Certificate of Educational Achievement, and is the system most high schools use to test their students. It is separated into Level 1,2,3 which are for the last 3 years of high school respectively.
It isn't without its controversy, however, the Level 1 Mathematics exam 'too hard' with many students breaking into tears. There is a huge pressure around these exams to do well but when the students were unable to complete a lot of the questions they broke into tears. In a 2015 OCED study when students were asked if they agreed with the statement "Even if I am well prepared for a test I feel very anxious", 72% of New Zealand students agreed with the statement with that being the highest percentage in the OCED which shows the huge cultural pressure.
