I find myself spending more and more time in front of some sort of screen. Its highly addictive and it's becoming more and more of a problem.
In this 3 minute video taken a few months ago form Naples, I talk about it the growing problem.
What's your experience? Please comment....
Hi Danny.
Thanks for framing and phrasing this question in as wide a context as possible. It's really important for people to see the personal impact of governmental decisions which appear to be saving them money and being more reasonable on the one hand, but that have huge negative downside on another.
Taking that 25 hour break each week is so hugely liberating. My wife Rachel Creeger who is a stand-up comedian and drags herself around the London Comedy circuit most nights each week, is convinced that it is essential to her mental health.
In truth, other than that 25 hour period, it is only sleep which takes us offline, clearly not a healthy state of affairs. However, I remeber as a child being amazed at people who appeared to be completely addicted chain-smokers being able to go the 25 hours of the sabbath without compaining about how they were "gasping for a fag". They might have been thinking it, or not, but it was clear that they were able to enter a different mental space on a regular basis.
However, the key is to have other things to focus on, like actually talking to your family and friends, taking part in group activities like board games and discussions, walks and uninterrupted periods of reading. All of these are activities which are often sidelined for the online existence or interrupted by it.
I would strongly advise anyone to try this 25 hour period even once.
Thanks mark. Now that I have got into crypto currencies I keep checking then damn prices every few minutes!!
Cheap calls and data is a good thing to me!
But yes, you are right. In the past, going abroad meant your phone was switched off to save cash and allow you to enjoy the present and now without distraction.
Now go stand in the sea for 20 minutes and earth yourself!
Answer: 7 hours a day, when I'm asleep. And whenever I'm in the sea or a plane. Sad, but true.
Sad indeed... 7hrs? I've seen you do more like 5 or 6. And plane... Hum hum.
DANNY! Tell this man to start living.
Hey! Creeper! xxxxxxxxxx

Hello Danny.
Interesting observation and suggestions.
I'm lucky, I lost my phone and haven't replaced it. But it's difficult to stay away for any length of time with all the people and connections. I try and respect late hours and weekends when connecting with others... as well as observe them for myself but that's not the same for everyone... obviously.
Are you going to make it to Anarchapulco again? I enjoyed meeting you last year! Keep up the good work!
Yes. Coming with the whole family this time. It looks like it’s gonna be a cracker.
Yes bloody Steem. But its good info, an addict!
After 9 I try not to look at my phone until in the morning after my yoga! I don't ever take my phone upstairs I am now limiting my internet or trying too. I now having time away from the screen. What annoys me is my camera used to have an option to turn off it simcard phone connection the latest update has stopped this ! 💯🐒
I have a theory that there is something now being omitted from either the WIFI or the screens themselves drawing us into technology all the time. I also think that we innately have telepathic unhoned skills and this takes us further away from those skills.
On a side note Danny you were talking of starting that vegan page , here is an article I have just written on the subject.
