Stormy weather coming over the Andes
One of the most magical reasons to return to the Atacama Desert is to see the dramatic change in colour over the seasons.
If you mention the Atacama Desert to most people the first thing that comes to mind is a dry, barren lifeless landscape, but that's only a very small part of the Atacama Desert.
To me the Atacama Desert is completely alive with different colours and landscapes making it one of the most diverse environments I've ever lived in. Like I've mentioned in my previous posts a truly special time to come is after the rains when everything starts flowering, the landscape turns green and the volcanoes get a powdering of snow.
