I wrote yesterday about entering the Eucalyptus forests and we had hopes of spotting a Koala - luckily we weren't disappointed.
Koalas are also known as Koala Bears but they are in fact not a bear, but a marsupial. These guys feed exclusively off of eucalyptus leaves and so when a forest fire hits (as you may have seen recently) an entire forest can be wiped out. This leaves koalas in a perilous position because if they are unable to escape they could become extinct.
Oh, a koala! :) so cute :)
I couldn't keep him, unfortunately.
That's a healthy looking Koala
