The Orange Blossoms Are Starting To Bloom On My Tree

I took this picture in the moment. This is why I wanted to pick all the oranges before the blossoms would bloom.

This is one of my favorite times of my orange tree. When I stand next to the orange tree and keep silent I can hear the buzzing wings of the bees.

There are a lot of bees that visit my tree during this time. There are some people that are afraid of bees, but I surely welcome them.

Yes, sometimes the bees come close to me and I never think that they want to sting me. One thing about the bees is that as soon as they sting you they die.

The bees will even warn you if they see you as a threat. Their warning is that they will bump into you in flight. If that happens then walk away. I would never swat at a bee.

So hopefully they see me as non-threatening. I do love watching them work and hearing the buzz of their wings. I like standing pretty close to them.

Of course if you run into a hive then it would be a good idea to walk away, but bees on flowers seem pretty friendly to me.

I know that when the bees come visit my garden they will be gathering good nectar as I keep my plants non-gmo and organic. I don't like man-made chemicals.

It is always sad to hear of the bees dying off cause of the gmo plants and man-made chemicals that kill off the bees.

Our food depends on the bees and where would we be without them? Well without them we would have to pollinate the flowers by hand.

It is possible to do, but can you imagine how expensive all fruits and vegetables would be if all the bees died off and we had to pollinate by hand?

The blossoms also have a very pleasant fragrance. I just love to breathe in it's aroma. No wonder that they use the orange blossom as an ingredient in some perfumes.

How about you? Do you like the fragrance of the orange blossom?
