Be skeptical about everything you do and everything you encounter.
Constantly ask questions.
In fact, seek to improve the very ability of asking questions.
Question asking is a skill. It is a vital skill and the skill has continued to be more and more valuable as time has gone on.
As search engines have come about, as social media has come about, as blockchain continues to evolve...
The ones who ask the right questions and ask a lot of them are the ones who will succeed in this crazy world that we live in.
For me, I ask a ton of questions about the things that I do and the ways that I do them.
When I explain Steem to people, I ask them a lot of questions.
I try and gauge their understanding of technology and of blockchain and crypto.
I gauge their understanding of economics and finance as well.
A friend gave me some advice and this is now my favorite question to ask people when the topic of crypto and economics arise:
People ask what crypto is backed by.. Why does it have any value, they ask?
Then, I pose this question to them: why do USD have any value? Because they're backed by gold, right?
Trick question... Most people will answer yes. They believe that USD are still backed by gold when in fact Nixon took us off the gold standard in 1971.
1971!
That's 48 years for people to learn!!!!
Nearly 50 years later and the average person still believes that USD are backed by gold!
Skepticism is a lacking trait. Be more skeptical and be more open minded that anything is possible!
Thought provoking, thank you. May the Truth ever find you.
