Its not easy being a vegan.. i tired few years back.. it was healthy but greatly reduced in strenght and energy. And on top that everywhere you go, its all about meat in every dinner..

I have not had any reduction in strength or energy being vegan - are you sure that you were getting the proper nutrients?
the key is to eat balanced when you're vegan, and making sure that you're getting enough protein from beans and other sources. If you keep up the balance (and do some calculations, to get the right amount) you will be fine. I'm vegan and also do sports a lot, and I don't feel weaker. if anything, quite the opposite =)
