Last December I had the oportunity to visit the beautiful country of Mexico for a short period of time, so I made the best of it.
CDMX is the Capital located in the center of Mexico at an altitude of 2.240 meters. It was December so the weather was very nice (10°Celsius) to do some sightseeing in the surroundings.
- If you like travel photography, I recommend to use wide angle lenses (e.g 10-22mm for CMOS sensor) regardless the camera brand, because is the best way to capture incredible images in a very large perspective. Let me know in the comments section if you want to know more photography tips -
1rst stop - Diana the Huntress Fountain
This fountain is located in Paseo Reforma, and it was inagurated in 1942 for urban embellishment. The persons involved were the architec Vicente Mendiola Quezada and sculptor Juan Fernando Olaguíbel.
2nd stop - Angel of Independence
This monument is located in Paseo Reforma, and it was inagurated in 1910 as a national icon to commemorate 100 years of the Independence of Mexico. This spot is very famous for celebrations or protest (that day people gather to protest against the actual president Peña Nieto)
3rd stop - Zócalo
The Zócalo also called "Plaza de la Constitución" and is one of the largest city squares in the world. Is a great place to do some sightseeing and learn about the history and culture, sadly I went too late for a guided tour but I did take some interesting pictures as shown below:
Since it was December, the central square was decorated for the Holidays with a huge Christmas Tree
Traditional Piñata
The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Assumption of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven
This is a huge commercial venue to go shopping at Francisco I. Madero Avenue
Palace of Fine Arts
Hope you liked and learned about my post, have you ever visited the beautiful Mexico City?
All the best,
César.
