A Critical Solution. Lessons in Morale for Steemit & Dtube [DTube Exclusive]

in #life7 years ago

As many of you know, I did consultation work for some large companies out in Asia. One of them was a company that started out with just a few employees and grew to be a giant. When the leaders had trouble in their creative flow, they called me in for consultation and one of the things I noticed was the critical environment that had developed. What I suggested was to stop ALL criticism unless it was presented with a solution OR an alternative. When that rule was put in place, the team members were able to allow creative ideas to flow more readily. Today, that company has grown to be one of the largest in it's industry. The CEO is a personal friend of mine as well.

If you want info on the company, please PM me in discord and I'll give you their website and info.

The hosts of the Art of Charm podcast spoke about this last week or the week before. Those shows are rocking my world right now. In fact I might just talk about them in today’s video, which I’ve yet to record at 8pm! Yikes.

Here is the episode of AOC I was thinking about - https://theartofcharm.com/podcast-episodes/aoc-toolbox-high-value-conflict-resolution-episode-697/. Just in case you're interested. I did a quick vlog episode about it and will get it up tonight.

i think i see elmers glue in the background... if that's the case then you could solve a bunch of problems with that!

I like how you call it "a critical solution" rather than "constructive criticism." Seems to me to hack the brain a bit and potentially help the recipient of the critical solution take the information better. Nice one man!

Finding solution is much more harder so instead doing that we by our nature usually chose to go easy way and just criticize someone or something.

As always.....Great vvvvvvvvvlog!Stay Awesome!

What I suggested was to stop ALL criticism unless it was presented with a solution OR an alternative.

Very good suggestion and improves the mood of everyone. What is criticism without offering a solution or alternative?

Almost an insult.

"Hey your work doesn't look good mate"

"You want to be great but you do not do anything".

@dnews That's an interesting thought to remember. No criticism unless you also have a solution to offer. That is a reasonable approach. Cheers!
