Survey Launched to Understand Why People Aren't Having Kids

in #life9 days ago

It shouldn't be a mystery but it is to some as to why many young adults today aren't having children.

Cost is one of the most frequently cited reasons around the world, people want to know they can provide a better standard of living for their kids. Why would they want to cause any suffering if they cannot meet the needs of that child? With the way things have been going the cost of living might be a bit uncertain as to what that might look like in the future.

In China they've recently launched a survey to ask questions.

But how forthcoming are people going to be?

Especially if political concerns are at the top of their list for not wanting to have a child.

Many popular online figures have brought up the issue over the years, about declining birth rates, and fingers have been pointed in a variety of directions.

China no doubt wants to investigate to find out why so that they might be able to change things and boost the rate of new births.

Is this a problem for the government to solve? Are they going to be able to?

Doesn't Mean People Aren't Trying

  • Birth rates might be falling but this doesn't meant there aren't millions of couples out there who have been trying to get pregnant. Unfortunately there are many today around the world who struggle with infertility issues and this is clearly contributing to the issue as well.

When might the time come that the state might possibly consider their role though in all of this as well, in what ways they might have contributed to the standard of living, political unease etc, and other problems that could be fueling this issue.

The reasons vary for why people aren't having children and if they don't want children then wouldn't you say it's best they don't have any? Common reasons for skipping out on parenthood though include having a partner who doesn't want kids, wanting to focus on other things, simply not wanting kids, financial concerns, medical reasons, and more.

Well, I've had 5 kids so whoever is shooting the infertility darts clearly missed me and my wife. We were pretty old for the last one also (well, i was 47 and she was 42...pretty old for having kids anyway). We will definitely be trying NOT to have any more though, lol!
