No matter how well prepared, one believes he may be, nor his degree of training, experience, and/ or expertise, once when assumes a position of leadership, he discovers strengths and weaknesses, he probably did not anticipate, and obstacles, he may not have foreseen! True leaders realize, good - enough, rarely gets the most desirable results, but, rather, they must, consistently, be, as well - prepared, as possible, and develop, a true, positive, can - do, attitude, which will permit them to proceed, with the self - confidence, and necessary judgment, to make wise decisions, regardless of the challenges confronted, and DISCOVER the best path, to follow, and course to proceed! With that in mind, this article will briefly consider, examine, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this represents, and why it's an essential aspect of effectively leading.

  1. Delve deeply; dare; deliver: How can you hope to make the wisest decision, unless/ until, you consistently delve deeply, into the needs, priorities, goals, perceptions, and conditions? True leaders strive to deliver the most appropriate results, and dare to expand their personal comfort zone, in order to make a difference, for the better.

  2. Integrity; imagination: Discovering the best way, to proceed, requires proceeding with the level of meaningful imagination, so they can see things, as they should be, rather than merely, as they are! Care must be taken, to maintain absolute integrity, rather than settling for making choices, based on the path, of least resistance!

  3. Strengthens; sustainable system: One's goals and objectives, must focus on strengthening the group, and stakeholders, he serves and represents. This should drive him, to conceive and perceive of, create, develop, and implement the finest possible, relevant sustainable system!

  4. Caring; character; creative: A caring leader must possess the quality, of character, where he cares deeply, and, with genuine empathy, about/ for those he serves, and proceeds, in a manner, where he is ready, willing and able, to be creative, and consider the finest options and alternatives!

  5. Vision; value; values: Visionary leaders must proceed, consistently, with the objective of providing meaningful value, to stakeholders, and his organization, and ensuring it aligns with the values, and mission of his organization!

  6. Empathy; emphasis; energy: When one consistently, effectively listens, and learns from every conversation, and experience, he becomes capable of leading with genuine empathy, and placing his emphasis, where it is most relevant and needed! A true leader inspires and motivates, for many reasons, but, generates an energized group, because of his high level of relevant, genuine energy!

  7. Relevant; realistic; reasoning: When a leader possesses relevant, quality reasoning, which is, both, realistic, as well as focused on sustainability, he positions himself, to discover, the best way, to proceed.

True leaders DISCUSS options and alternatives, in order to proceed, in the wisest ways! Will you be willing to commit to these tasks, and actions?
