Hello Steemians
Sometimes you read something and it just hits you. As an artist basically all of my money aside from what keeps my kids, fiance and myself clothed, fed and happy goes right back into my crafts. I don't go out to the bars or gamble so that money just gets invested. Ive also done more reading and self educating since beginning my art journey. When I started selling my art I would hardly feel comfortable charging $15-$20 for a painting of mine... Now, at a minimum of $75-$$80 and as high as $500 I feel confident when asking what I do for my art as I now value my time and it holds a higher value to myself. I stopped selling myself short. I stopped doing stuff for free that I didn't want to do and set my sights higher than most will ever see.
Old Ben!
He was absolutely full of wisdom. A really interesting guy.
Technology is so awesome these days because it allows us to invest in out minds so easily. The tricky part is getting it to your purse. In the words of my old boss and mentor: "wisdom is the practical application of knowledge." That's the hard part.
"He who promises too much too soon. Accomplishes too little too late."
I love this one too! I can also relate to it when doing commission art work for people lol.. Sometimes I give my time way less time than I should really take..
Sometimes I take more time than I really should. Then I spin off course. Oh no :0 Let's promise what we can :D
