"Come and talk to me."
My daughter came over slowly to where I sat on the couch. My laptop was open beside me, showing some crypto market stuff.
"I want you to know, that I know I've been playing with my computer more recently than I ever used to. Have you noticed?"
An affirming nod.
"So I just wanted to say that I won't do it as much from now on. And anytime you want to, you can ask me to stop, and I'll play with you, or we'll watch the TV show or play a game together - if you want.
"Whenever you want."
My daughter gave me the biggest hug. And then we talked about all the stuff we enjoy doing together.
So, I love steemit - you probably do too. There is sooooo much that I love about it.
But there are more important things, for me - and it's too easy to forget them. It's too easy to forget her. It's too easy to be too busy to really hear my daughter when she's talking to me.
She's 8, you see. And she is the most precious thing in my life.
I love steemit - but these years are so precious. The day is coming when she won't be my little girl anymore. She'll be grown up and I will be wishing I was just here for her more when I had the chance.
Life is so precious.
So, here is my promise to her. No more being distracted.
❤️I love you my baby girl❤️

A wise decision. Despite the addiction you may develop for Steemit it's important to know what you should really focus on ;)

😊
Thank you for this post. I was thinking the same thing today. For the past week, I had been busy with my assignment for my course and I could see my baby girl doing everything to get my attention. She was being absolute hilarious and trying to play peek a boo with me. I held her close. She is everything that I love. I can't say how precious she is to me and these moments are fleeting and transient. The little events that takes place with her, I can not simply capture them in pictures. I also think of the future being so near. One day, she won't be so little anymore and I will wish we had shared more little giggles, more tiny cuddles and sounds. I will miss them all.
❤️
It's easy to get obsessed with a lot of things and lose sight of your priorities.
When something is working and you're having fun who wants to quit?
When I first got into crypto-trading I was on the computer literally 16 hours a day and making more money than I ever thought possible, but everything else in my life was being neglected.
I would justify it and say I would catch up on things as soon as I got far enough ahead but the trading-world never stops and there's always more money to make.
It got to a very unhealthy situation and the money didn't compensate for the broken relationships, bad health and filth building up around me.
I had to reluctantly begin treating it like a job and find ways to lock up the money after 8 hours a day and this is what I recommend other people do.
Anyway - Cheers. there's nothing more important than the relationship with your daughter. I know you know that.
PEACE!
Thanks mate - great post
