HOW IT ALL STARTED

My beloved Steemians, it is my pleasure to welcome you to my blog again. Today I am going to share a story with you on how i started a carrier in a field I hated before.

When I graduated from secondary school in 2005, my uncle enrolled me into a computer training institute to undergo an eight months training programme in computer maintenance, repairs and networking while waiting for my entry exam into the university. Funny as it is, I hate computer as a subject while in secondary school, my hatred for computer was caused by the altitude of our computer instructors who usually ask us to queue up in a single line any day we are to take a practical computer class.

After queuing up, the teacher will ask us to come one-by-one and type our first name only into the computer, once you type your name, you will go out of the classroom through another door and that’s the end of the practical for you on that day. Meanwhile if any person makes a mistake while trying to type his or her name, the teacher will scold him or her, delete the error without showing or telling us how to correct it ourselves. This same practical continued for over one academic secession and we become so bored with computer and their ‘type your name practical’.

One day I led a group of other boys in the class to disrupt the so called practical and the teacher marked me a bad boy and warned me not to near her class again. Unperturbed by our teacher’s command, I assured her that no such useless practical will ever take place for my class again. (I later learnt they’re IT students)

Now, having found myself to train in what I hated before. I initially wanted to just while away time till I either secure an admission into a university or my training period elapses since I cannot reject the training. Fortunately, I picked interest in computer after I saw a new method of teaching adopted by my new teachers.
I graduated as one of the best students in my set at the end of my training and my teachers was so proud of me.

It sounds like that instructor should be reported to the principal. Anyway, it good to hear you're doing well even after that experience.

I actually did and that was how i discovered that they are not real teachers but mere computer trainees on Industrial Training

Teachers dont know the power they have over students. I wish people that arent passionate would stop teaching

Exactly. Thanks

Nice info, thank bro

welcome to my field. I wanted nursing too another dream entiringly but now i am a seasoned teacher, best profession ever

Wow, life sometimes push us to where we never expected but with courage one can still turn it into a positive result. Thanks

Teaching is meant to impact quality knowledge and students are aware of who their real teachers are and those just doing it to mark time. But I am happy you met a new crop of teachers who rekindled your interest in the subject.

Thanks for contributing

Thanks to your uncle. A lot of students have missed their God given career this way.

Yes its true. Thanks
